Another British marque has chosen the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance to unveil its latest model. This time its Morgan, the company that is famed for using traditional wood framed chassis over aluminium body panels in cars like the Plus 8 and the plus 4. In recent times it has become quite a dream car for many with the really beautiful Aeromax and Aeromax Supersports coupes. Morgan has now unveiled another stunner (especially in that two tone colour scheme) – the Morgan Eva GT.
Japan's Mainichi Shimbun daily reported that Honda will launch the long-awaited hybrid version of its Fit (Jazz in Singapore) subcompact in its domestic market in October with prices set to start from around 1.6 million yen, or about US$18,900, making it the country's most affordable hybrid model.
Nissan’s luxury division, Infiniti, has just release its line of high performance vehicles called the Infiniti Performance Line or IPL in short. IPL focuses not just on engine power and acceleration but also redefines the total vehicle ownership experience. IPL promises unique driving attributes with exclusive designs. The 2011 IPL G Coupe is the first of what is expected to be a range of IPL performance vehicles in the future.
Pebble Beach in Montery California is the location for the famed Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance auto show. This event is held yearly and the event focuses on classic cars usually, and each year features a particular marque as its focus. In addition to the classic car cours concompetition, there is an auction, a classic car tour, and an automotive art exhibit. However, many (mostly luxury) car manufacturers used this auto show as a platform to launch or preview new models and Jaguar is one of them.
Traveling in the Lexus LFA will soon get a lot better for some of the vehicle's owners, thanks to a new dedicated line of travel cases designed to fit perfectly in the boot area of the US$375,000 Japanese supercar. Created in partnership with Tumi, a New Jersey-based manufacturer of travel bags and suitcases, the two-piece luggage set will accompany the LFA in selected markets, including the US and Europe.
Taking over Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford has actually made TaTa Motors very profitable. From April to June of 2010, 2nd quarter sales Tata had posted a net profit of US$430million. From this figure, Jaguar-Land Rover sales have contributed to US$348million. Tata’s share price has also been boosted by about 4percent too. That’s almost three-quarters the total net profit for Tata. Good products have ensured this I suppose.
Anyone here remember Ssangyong? Yes, it’s that Korean vehicle manufacturer famously, or infamously know for creating that Stavic/Rodius, which may have been the undisputed titleholder of the ugliest MPV in the universe. It could be partly due to the Stavic, or not, but the manufacturer with the twin ‘Ss’ in its name is under a court guided restructuring exercise as it had raked up debts of about US$635million. And as a result of the restructuring, Indian vehicle Manufacturer Mahindra has been announced as the preferred company to take over SSangyong.

Ahah! After many finger pointing, throwing of accusations, requests of public apologies and other witch hunts, it seems that Toyota cars may not the culprit in the totally blown out of proportion sticking accelerator pedal fiasco. Over the past twelve months or so Toyota have been recalling up to 10million or so of their cars due to supposed safety defects that caused some Toyota cars to accelerate out of control.
It is now being concluded that driver error may have been a cause for many of the incidents.
Following on from the launch of the CrossPolo and CrossGolf earlier this year, Volkswagen is now completing its family of soft-roaders with the presentation of the new CrossTouran. In essence, the car is a plastic body kitted version of the standard Touran minivan blessed with an extra road clearance and a more rugged, off-road look.
