Honda has developed a mind reading hat! I wonder where they think they're going with this but it sounds a little far fetched being able to detect a drivers intentions through reading brain patterns through your strands of hair.

When you think of a mind reading hat, it being 'cool' doesn't really come to mind because you think there'd be tons of wires and pads being stuck to every possible area on your head to enable it to work (and CHECK OUT THE PHOTO!) But no... Honda is actually working with 'top fashion designers' to create a stylish, good looking one! How amazing is that. The idea is that the hat reads the driver's brainwaves so that he/she can execute simple commands like switching on the windscreen wipers or using the satellite navigation system. That hat with Chanel or Armani on it? I highly doubt so. Honda and fashion are more like apples and oranges to me.

Honda's goal does not stop there. Their main man Yasuhisa Arai, of the Honda Research Institute in Tokyo, told a Japanese motoring magazine that their invention could even replace the steering wheel in approximately 10 years! I don't know how one will be able to drive by just using your head since you'd have to concentrate really hard, assuming your hands and legs have nothing better to do, you can even read the newspaper and drive.

All this technology of reading brain patterns through your hair and stuff is great but on a side note, what if you're bald?
