Regular readers of My Autoblog would not find the Dodge Dart alien as there are already two articles related to the upcoming model from the American carmaker. Now, Dodge has unleashed a slew of pictures as well as the first video of the compact sedan.

If VW were to produce a 4 door version of the Scirocco, it would probably look a lot like the Dart, especially from the front angle. Now only does the Dart looks like the Scirocco, it also have the specifications to match the German coupe. Although engine options include a 2.0L and a 2.4L naturally-aspirated power plants, a more interesting power source is the Fiat-sourced 1.4L MultiAir Turbo, generating 160 bhp. The front wheel drive Dart will debut with a 6 speed dual-clutch transmission although a new 9 speed transmission is currently being developed by the ZF Group.

The interior is said to be loaded with soft touch materials, and the red stitching gives a sporty outlook. As evident from the interior images, both the passengers and driver can expect to be pampered by the heavily bolstered seats. An interesting feature is the First-Aid kit which is stored within the front passenger seat.

With the debut of the Giulietta-based Dart, Chrysler Group finally has a direct rival to the Ford Focus and Chevrolet Cruze. I seriously hope that a right-hand-drive version will be developed and I am sure it will garner more sales than the Caliber did in Singapore.

  • Is 'tiny living' really irrelevant in Singapore?

I discussed the possibility of living in tiny houses in Singapore in an earlier blog post. But as we know, it isn't an option to begin with – no thanks, of course, to our lack of land space.  Someone also pointed out that the idea of tiny houses is "romanticised" – which, I don't deny (but hey, that's why it's a dream). While it's clear tiny houses aren't going to work out here, the concept of 'tiny living' is; not just physically but also mentally. Anyone who has lived enough years lo
