I'm sure anyone with a XY chromosome should be familiar with the name Need for Speed (NFS).
Starting from 1994 with 'The Need for Speed', the blockbuster racing game franchise has bloated to 19 games - some really awesome ones - with over 100 million copies of the games in the series to be sold - back in October 2009.
After invading your digital screens, the franchise is now all set to burn some rubber in the silver screen, with a film adaption of NeedfFor Speed - to be out in cinemas on March 14th next year.
Brothers George (Real Steel) and John Gatins (Coach Carter) have written an original story for the film, not based on any individual game while Scott Waugh, director of Act of Valor it attached to direct this movie.
The movie is described as "a fast-paced, high-octane film rooted in the tradition of the awesome car culture films released in the 1970's while being extremely faithful to the spirit of the bestselling video game franchise it's being based on".
Aaron Paul will play Tobey Marshall who is an extremely conceited, corrupt, arrogant, violent, anti-heroic driver who enjoys revenge fantasies. His character owns a garage which upgrades racecars. Framed for a federal crime he never committed, he escapes from prison exacting retaliation.
With principal photography to have started recently, a number of cars of have been scooped on location. Besides a matt black Porsche Cayenne and Ford Mustang, which I believe is used by the crew for filming, there is a red Koenigsegg Agera R, a yellow GTA Spano, a Bugatti Veyron and and the brand new McLaren P1!
I'm not sure if the P1 is an actual McLaren or a replica - which is common in the movie world - but it is impressive to see an array of supercars. It would be wicked if the Reventon or Veneno makes an apperance though. Just saying.
Are you guys (and ladies) excited for this high octane flick?
