blogentry-133713-0-87556300-1429234509_thumb.pngWe recently came across a video of a customer who filled her engine with water instead of oil because she thought the car was 'overheating' and water can cool the engine. According to the mechanic who was draining the engine of water, it was '16-litres overfilled and 14-litres of it were water'. Which also meant the engine overheated due of a lack of oil in the first place.

In case you are wondering, the engine is likely to be dead if it has been started but no details were given on whether it was started.

Maybe it is high time the driving schools here start including basic car maintenance as part of the driving test...

what kind of engine capacity does this monster car has to hold 16L of liquid??

Might not need to be too big. From oil sump to top of camshaft, an open deck mid or even small engine should have enough space to hold 16L. It wont spill out readily if you cover it with water up to the cams.

This sounds like ang mo land. So 3 litre engine also not 'big'?

I discussed the possibility of living in tiny houses in Singapore in an earlier blog post. But as we know, it isn't an option to begin with – no thanks, of course, to our lack of land space.  Someone also pointed out that the idea of tiny houses is "romanticised" – which, I don't deny (but hey, that's why it's a dream). While it's clear tiny houses aren't going to work out here, the concept of 'tiny living' is; not just physically but also mentally. Anyone who has lived enough years lo
