Driven by factory driver Robert Serwanski, Koenigsegg took its One:1 hypercar to Japan where it participated at this year’s ‘Sound of Engines’ event, held at the legendary Suzuka circuit. The 1322bhp hypercar appeared there for demonstration purposes and was said to be running on standard aero setup and regular fuel, hence it wasn't in the optimum set up for achieving the best possible lap time.

That said, it still did an unofficial fastest laptime of 2:17.57 minute, almost 2 seconds faster than a 2012 Nissan R35 GT-R.

Robert Serwanski was quoted after the laps:

“We had to take care of the brakes a little. It was an oversight on our part, but we didn’t put new pads in before shipping the car to Japan and we didn’t bring fresh pads with us. Hard braking was an issue as a result, which will influence the speed at which you approach a corner. While we were carrying an extra person in the car in all of our laps, this wasn’t a big factor. It does affect your steering and braking at the limit, but we were not at the limit today.”
