Another video to show how important Electronic Stability Programs are
This video by CarAdvice demostrates how big a difference electronic nannies like ESP (Electronic Stability Programs) in our cars make. While most of us (hopefully) have no need for it, it can definitely save your life or a pedestrian's life.
In the video, professional racing driver, James Courtney, who races in the V8 Supercars, go through two runs in a Holden Insignia VXR ( a.k.a Opel Insignia here) : one with all of the systems (including ABS) turned off, and another with all switched back on.
You will be surprised that even with a a professional racing driver at the wheel, the car still goes out of control when tested under this extreme situation. While we will never see snow here in sunny Singapore, it is still good to have these systems in your car when it rains.
