blogentry-133713-0-70973100-1440742829_thumb.jpgCalled the Avante AD in its home market, shots of the Korean Domestic Market (KDM) model has surfaced on some Korean websites before the official reveal of the car.

blogentry-133713-0-05082300-1440742835_thumb.jpgJudging from the photos, the new generation of the Elantra borrows plenty of styling cues from the Genesis luxury sedan on both the outside and the inside.

 

The compact sedan is said to ride on an improved platform with a re-tuned suspension. Powertrains options are still unknown at this moment but there are rumors of it using either a 1.6-litre or a 1.4-litre turbocharged engine which will be paired up with a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox.

If the 1.4 turbo is more than 130bhp....you can be sure we will be getting an inferior 1.6l NA instead.

Good point there! Those turbocharged engines will likely be more suited for the European markets.

This plus the new 2016 Civic coming next year, the market for small saloons seems to be heating up. My only concern is the engine choices of these 2 models, given COE Cat A requirements, we are likely to see current Elantra and Civic engines to carry over to the new models which will definitely be a disappointment. :(
