blogentry-133713-0-95963200-1449452211_thumb.jpgAs far as car collecting goes, a "barn find" in its original condition is very much cherished by car collectors and this very rusted Porsche 356 A Speedster was sold for $152,700 (S$213,000) recently.

blogentry-133713-0-54407500-1449452223_thumb.jpgAccording to Carscoops, this example is a 1955 T1 model and is said to be the 212th unit out of the 1,700 units ever produced. The car was also sold with an engine from the same era that was "supposedly overhauled, but never installed”. We guessed that probably also meant that more money might be needed to get it working. To add on to the fun (or pain, depending on how you view this purchase), all the new (or refurbished) body panels needed for it can be found for under $20,000 (S$28,000)

blogentry-133713-0-46722200-1449452234_thumb.jpgThat said, the Porsche 356 A Speedster is still one of the most valuable vintage Porsches ever and prices for a well preserved example can go up to $250,000 (S$349,000). So if the new owner of this particular unit manages to restore it, it might actually turn out to be a worthwhile investment.

Well the person who bought it probably has a few new Porsche's already, no one would spend that much on a car like this unless its just spare change to them

  • Is 'tiny living' really irrelevant in Singapore?

I discussed the possibility of living in tiny houses in Singapore in an earlier blog post. But as we know, it isn't an option to begin with – no thanks, of course, to our lack of land space.  Someone also pointed out that the idea of tiny houses is "romanticised" – which, I don't deny (but hey, that's why it's a dream). While it's clear tiny houses aren't going to work out here, the concept of 'tiny living' is; not just physically but also mentally. Anyone who has lived enough years lo
