GT-R LM Nismo racing program killed officially

blogentry-133713-0-23439600-1450835208_thumb.jpgNissan announced the sad news recently that it will be killing the racing program for its very innovative and bold race car, the GT-R LM Nismo which was special amongst other Le Mans Prototypes at the time for utilizing a front-mid engine configuration layout for its engine as opposed to the rear mid-engine layout used by nearly all other competitors in the category. This comes as no surprise as its results from racing last year at Le Mans wasn't very good.

 

According to Nissan, they believed that even thought the teams worked diligently to bring the vehicles up to the desired performance levels, the company concluded that the program would not be able to reach its ambitions. It also added that it will focus more on developing its longer term racing strategies.
