blogentry-133713-0-20284700-1455074594_thumb.jpgFirst and foremost, I must apologise for the long overdue post on my end. Yes, I was actually at last year's JDM TT 3.0 in Kuala Lumpur but time wasn't on my side, so I never really had the opportunity to sort out what I shot at the event until recently.

For those who have no idea what event this is, it's basically a hangout ( TT meant "Tea drinking" in Malaysia i guess?) session/car meet for Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) cars. Organised by Racenotrice.com, this is the third installment of the meet since 2013 and an estimated 500 cars and 1,000 people turned up for the meet.

Anyway, enough of talking. Here's what turned up at the event...

blogentry-133713-0-07695900-1455012221_thumb.jpgThe Toyota AE86 needs no introduction I believe. This one here looking mint.

blogentry-133713-0-28414400-1455012250_thumb.jpgIt's a pity we don't get to see the Toyota Supra in Singapore anymore.

blogentry-133713-0-49356000-1455012278_thumb.jpgLarge exhaust for the Supra is the norm.

blogentry-133713-0-98675300-1455012306_thumb.jpgYes that's a Toyota engine in a Mazda RX-8. Owner was keen to show what he had as he was revving it once in a while.

blogentry-133713-0-20828300-1455012338_thumb.jpgRetro trucks are cool...

blogentry-133713-0-36466200-1455012372_thumb.jpgSo are retro police cars...

blogentry-133713-0-62460400-1455012397_thumb.jpgHow about a K20 swapped Honda EK Civic hatch?

blogentry-133713-0-85209700-1455012504_thumb.jpgThe Supra was one of the best show car that turned up...

blogentry-133713-0-89092200-1455012694_thumb.jpgVeilside Mazda RX-7. Fast and Furious fans would love this.

blogentry-133713-0-61520900-1455012750_thumb.jpgLovely Toyota Cressida.

blogentry-133713-0-45368600-1455012923_thumb.jpgThe Datsun 510, another retro JDM favourite.

blogentry-133713-0-75328100-1455073677_thumb.jpgSilvia S13 looking ready for time attack.

blogentry-133713-0-43615200-1455073690_thumb.jpgMazda RX-7 again...

blogentry-133713-0-04472200-1455073701_thumb.jpgAnd another one.

blogentry-133713-0-99182000-1455073716_thumb.jpgAnd while it was pulling away, we spotted another one.

blogentry-133713-0-64441500-1455073795_thumb.jpgThere are many Honda CR-Zs here in Malaysia. This was just one of the many that drove past.

blogentry-133713-0-29173700-1455073811_thumb.jpgOne of my personal favourites, the Toyota Altezza. Again, there seems to be quite a few of them here too.

blogentry-133713-0-27317600-1455073855_thumb.jpg

blogentry-133713-0-78671500-1455073827_thumb.jpgAs usual, the Honda Civics were well represented.

blogentry-133713-0-24097300-1455074469_thumb.jpgThose familiar with highway street racing in Osaka will like this dressed-up Kanjo-look EK sedan and the third generation Civic below.

blogentry-133713-0-20442500-1455074579_thumb.jpg

blogentry-133713-0-71449100-1455074658_thumb.jpgMore Kanjo weapons here...

blogentry-133713-0-02605400-1455073846_thumb.jpgOne of the few DC2 Integras that we spotted. blogentry-133713-0-97010700-1455073876_thumb.jpg

blogentry-133713-0-61695500-1455073866_thumb.jpgNo JDM meet would be complete without some GT-Rs. Since they are quite common locally, I skipped taking photos of them.

blogentry-133713-0-07115100-1455074459_thumb.jpgThen to my astonishment, I chanced upon a big group of Mitsubishi Evolution 5 and 6 at the quieter end of the meet. While there are a couple of these mean rally heroes here in Malaysia, they are rarely seen on the roads. So seeing so many at one time took me by surprise!

blogentry-133713-0-18106800-1455074477_thumb.jpg

blogentry-133713-0-19987600-1455074512_thumb.jpg

blogentry-133713-0-40188600-1455074535_thumb.jpg

blogentry-133713-0-26702600-1455074549_thumb.jpg

blogentry-133713-0-99346200-1455074558_thumb.jpg

blogentry-133713-0-30757800-1455074569_thumb.jpgAs this lone Subaru WRX crawled past... I realised there might just be a group of Subarus parked nearby...

blogentry-133713-0-20284700-1455074594_thumb.jpgTrue enough there was!

blogentry-133713-0-16358700-1455074626_thumb.jpgBut before I had time to shoot, everyone started to leave as it was getting late.

blogentry-133713-0-71676000-1455074633_thumb.jpgWell, that sums up my little coverage of the JDM TT 3.0 meet. For those who wish to attend the next one, do hang out on the Malaysian car forums and you might get to know when the next one is!

  • Is 'tiny living' really irrelevant in Singapore?

I discussed the possibility of living in tiny houses in Singapore in an earlier blog post. But as we know, it isn't an option to begin with – no thanks, of course, to our lack of land space.  Someone also pointed out that the idea of tiny houses is "romanticised" – which, I don't deny (but hey, that's why it's a dream). While it's clear tiny houses aren't going to work out here, the concept of 'tiny living' is; not just physically but also mentally. Anyone who has lived enough years lo
