WRC driver breaks longest jump record
World Rally Championship driver Eyvind Brynildsen has broken the record for the longest jump at Colin's Crest in this year's Swedish rally. He flew 45 metres, beating Thierry Neuville and Ken Block who only managed to cover 44 metres and 37 metres respectively in previous years.
Brynildsen walks away with this year's Colin's Crest Award, named in honor of the late Colin McRae. His Ford Fiesta RS rally car was said to be flat out in fifth gear doing almost 165km/h before the jump which is situated at Vargåsen stage (SS16) of the Swedish rally. He was also reported to have planned in advance before attempting the record-breaking jump.
