This video, which turned up by CarScoops, shows a lady wearing rather large heels get into, start, and drive away in a Ferrari F40. While we haven't driven a Ferrari F40--seriously, will a Ferrari F40 owner please give us a call? We would have to imagine it isn't as easy to drive as your buddy's Mitsubishi Lancer GLX with three pedals. And yet this woman makes it look like a cinch.

So, if you can't drive a car with three pedals, watch this video.

No big deal what. It's not like she drove at the limit or anything.

I'd be more concerned about safety. Driving schools make a big issue about driving barefoot (for the driver's safety), but driving with the wrong footwear is a more serious issue. Even men's office shoes are not the best, and designer shoes can easily slip off pedals. Ladies' heels might be worse. For pootling around town, it's not a huge deal, but when you drive in anger, driving/racing shoes are a must.

I will say that the most amusing part was how she strategically covered herself with her purse when she got in. Could have got a little undignified there. [laugh]

Except for the restricted views and adjusting to the low sitting position, driving a modern generation Ferrari which comes with power steering is no diff from driving a normal car. Just got to exercise caution with the acceleration pedal.

The last of the hard core Ferrari is probably the 360. Trying steering that and you will know.

I thought the F40 is way older than the 360

Yes. The F40 is one of the old school bite-yer-head-off supercars. The 360 is a pussycat while the F40 is a Bengal tiger.

It is very dangerous to drive any car with high heels. Can easily lose control of the car if driver is unable to get the real feel of the accelerator. a number of them have died and crash unnecessarily..

Yes that's why I expressed concern in my original post.

When I drive my F430 to office, I do it in office shoes and they don't have great feel (still much better than heels of course). For leisure drives I prefer to use dedicated driving shoes.

  • Is 'tiny living' really irrelevant in Singapore?

I discussed the possibility of living in tiny houses in Singapore in an earlier blog post. But as we know, it isn't an option to begin with – no thanks, of course, to our lack of land space.  Someone also pointed out that the idea of tiny houses is "romanticised" – which, I don't deny (but hey, that's why it's a dream). While it's clear tiny houses aren't going to work out here, the concept of 'tiny living' is; not just physically but also mentally. Anyone who has lived enough years lo
