Toyota gives Tundra pick up truck owner a new one after driving 1 million miles
Toyota has given this Tundra pick up truck owner a new Tundra truck after he travelled almost 1.6 million km in it in nine years. This million-mile Tundra is a 2007 model and was assembled at the brand's facility in San Antonio, Texas. According to its owner, Victor Sheppard, he does an average of around 200,000km a year by driving it regularly from his home to North Dakota, Wyoming and Virginia, for his job.
Amazingly, the truck is using its original engine, transmission and paint job. It has since seen made 117 dealership service visits for oil changes, belt replacements and regularly scheduled check-ups. Sheppard says 'other than a few dents, it looks pretty new. Even the seats look as though as they were when I bought it.'
So to reward him, Toyota has given Sheppard a brand new 2016 Tundra for free, which is also his 16th Tundra, and will disassemble the old pickup truck from bumper to bumper to discover how the components held up in real world driving.
