blogentry-133713-0-01551100-1472089050_thumb.jpgWith its upcoming SUV, the Urus potentially doubling its production figures, Lamborghini is looking to cap its supercar production at 3,500 units per year. Does that mean that Lamborghini is giving up their image of being a super sportscar brand?

According to Reuters, which interviewed Chief Executive Officer Stefano Domenicali, they "will remain committed to the performance and exclusivity of its supercars".

Lamborghinis are set to be more common on the roads as the expected annual production figures will hit 7,000 units. To cope with the demand, worldwide dealer network is set to increase from 132 to 160 outlets.

The Urus SUV will be powered by a 4.0-litre V8 turbocharged engine, which is a step away from its norm as all its recent supercars have been naturally-aspirated. The all-wheel drive SUV is likely to go on sale in 2018 and will be based on the current Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga.

Why cap production? Might as well cap production to zero.

There is a difference between a need and a want.

Many times the power of advertisement and social pressure creates unnecessary hardship for many people.

Take a real hard look in your own home, I bet you there are at least a few things you regret buying and had little or no use for it.

Does anyone really need a 4.0 litre V8 turbocharged engine in Singapore?

As a conversational item yes we can talk about it but doesn't mean you have the money you can buy irresponsibly. It is like power, with power comes great responsibility.

Do you think the haze from Indonesia is ONLY Indonesia problem? They are burning areas sometimes as big as twice the size of Singapore. We are all part of the problem and we can all be part of the solution too. Why? Because these burning are in large part own by large corporations that they produce products that we buy.

As a human race, we talk too much but do too little.

As a human race, we are just too selfish as we encroached land that we should share with other species living on this earth.

As a human race, we have only ourselves to blame for our own self destruction, we spent more money on killing machines of war than we spend on eradicating disease or poverty, we destroy our natural habitat even before we know there are useful elements in them.

Yes this is a car forum but we need a balance too.

Interesting read. Thank you.

  • It's okay, you're just feeling ambivalent

I almost always struggle to describe my state of mind when asked to consider how I'm feeling. How do you express emotions that exist together but work in opposition to each other? When invited to join a gathering with friends, I delight over the prospect of catching up but also yearn to be lounging at home. I'm inspired by an accomplished co-worker yet envy her. I feel happy about a new beginning but nervous and, at the same time, sad over the closing of a chapter.  It's complicated. A
