Toyota C-HR bags best-selling SUV title in Japan
Toyota's C-HR is Japan's best-selling SUV for 2017.
According to Japan Automobile Dealers Association, the Toyota crossover managed to hit a sales figure of 117,299. It is significantly ahead of the next best-selling SUV, the Honda Vezel at 64,332 units and the Toyota Harrier at 58,732 units.
Toyota's Prius also does well, claiming second spot for the overall best-selling model in 2017. Despite the good result, sales were down by just more than a third compared to last year.
In Japan, sales of mini cars (kei) and normal passenger cars are traditionally listed separately. If these cars are included, Honda's N-BOX is actually Japan's top-selling model with 218,478 units sold. From the photo above, it is clear that these 660cc mini vehicles have a huge presence in Japan, with half of the list occupied by them.
