blogentry-133713-0-98261100-1533289174_thumb.jpgTrump's administation has come up with a proposal that claims that better fuel consumption might result in more deaths on the road.

As reported by The Associated Press, which managed to have a look at a draft of the government’s fuel standards proposals, claimed that the Administration believes that people will drive more if their vehicles are more fuel efficient, putting the drivers at more risk.

Adding on, the draft mentioned that new vehicles will also be cheaper and heavier if they aren’t required to meet stringent fuel efficiency requirements. This will in turn drive more people to buy new cars which are safer. Apparently, if this come true, 1000 lives could be saved a year if fuel economy standards remain at 2020 levels.

The existing corporate average fuel economy standards (CAFE) set by Obama was to have a fleet-wide average that is set to around 21km/L by 2025. However, Trump administration's proposal would only require an automaker’s vehicle fleet to average roughly 12.7km/L in real-world driving.

I almost always struggle to describe my state of mind when asked to consider how I'm feeling. How do you express emotions that exist together but work in opposition to each other? When invited to join a gathering with friends, I delight over the prospect of catching up but also yearn to be lounging at home. I'm inspired by an accomplished co-worker yet envy her. I feel happy about a new beginning but nervous and, at the same time, sad over the closing of a chapter.  It's complicated. A
