What is the best way to hammer the little nails from the trunking to the wall?

I have difficulties holding the tiny nails while hammering it into the wall.

and most of the time, the nail will bend or only can go half way. :(

Unfortunate, just need to practice hitting the nail head squarely, lighting tapping it at first before hitting it harder. You may use double sided tape to stick the trucking base onto the wall 1st and that should free your hands to concentrate on the nail.

1 pair of chopstick, or flat surface piece of things..or flat ice-cream stick

place the nail inbetween ,u can tape behind the chopstick for more secure grip..

then just hammer, when inside abit liao..u can remove ur chopsticks and continue hammer ur nail in

This is what i did for my home.

Instead of hammering nails in, which will result in bent nails most of the time, just get wall plugs n drill them in, secure with screws. Next time during repainting, the trunkings can be removed.

Or the simplest way is to use double sided tapes, but this method is not very secure.

You will need to get the nail rammer.

Not sure if its the actual name. But that is the purpose.

Cost $10-$20. some kit came with set of assorted nails.

Need to use with proper wall nails with washers. Not too expensive.

I knew because I also learnt the PAINFUL way [bigcry]

U using right nail?

There are different nails for different jobs......i think for wall trunking you need to use the small black ones ( harder), those use for wood are generally softer so tends to bend easier. dunno right or wrong, i went to the hardware store the uncle recommended me the black ones say for wall use.

Recently when OpenNet contractor install the wires in our unit, I observed that the trunking c/w double-sided tape for fixing, and then followed with black concrete nail. They used long-nose pliers to hold the nail during hammering.

Hmmz....

Mine was done using the auto-fit nails. The nails that comes with a plastic holder.

Just drill the trunking with the wall, position the nails and then hammer it in.

The double sided tape seems like a good idea for viewing alignment if one man job.

Best way is to get small hammer for small nails... If nail too small, hammer too heavy/big u will tend to pak jiao/pew chew
