Not safe from accidents, even when parked: Car slams into vehicles in carpark

The red car apparently crashed into a parked Toyota Vios, pushing it into another vehicle and dislodging its front bumper, said STOMPer carCrashes.

The STOMPer said:

"I was in my room surfing net and heard a loud boom.

"Initially I thought it was some motorcycle that skidded, but when I came out from my room, this was what I saw.

"The silver Airwave will be scratched, and the Vios' bumper has dropped off.

"It was also literally knocked out from its parking lot."

A similar accident happened last month, when a 24-year-old female driver crashed into three parked cars. A pedestrian was also hurt in the incident.

Car insurance got designated named driver.

But parked cars is not driven by anyone. How to claim insurance? It's not being operated and definitely cannot claim own insurance. My ins clearly state that only the named driver is allowed to operate the car, other than that no avenue to claim. So when no one is in the car cannot claim loh!!

Can only claim from the red car.

But then the red Car ins can claimed that there is no other driver involved, so no case. What's there to claim when the vios and airwave named driver was not involved in the accident, they were not at the scene of the accident. ....get it!

Home insurance protects the home, as long as the named owner Owns the house.

But car insuance very smelly. It's not to protect the car, but mainly to cover the named driver from civil cases and death payout. So if no one is operating the car, can still claim insurance or not? If can, then the purpose of the named driver is moot. Then anyone can drive the car and if accident, the owner can just claim on the car repairs, except personally injury.

imho

the driver should be suspended while investigation is taking place....

he or she could be under influence of alcohol or medication or whatever intoxicants...

then should trace back to the tester who passed him or her....

also should relook into our driving learning and test.. i feel that the way we were taught to drive...

cannot apply to today's driving... there were less cars back then.... [:)]
