Forummer Neutral Newbie August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 Hi I'm driving a almost 5 yr old jap car. Just now a few minutes after I started the car, my car's rpm dropped, went up and there was a slight jerk forward at a stationary position. My foot was still on brake pedal and gear in D mode. Any idea what happened? Pls advise. Thanks in advance. ↡ Advertisement

That's the throttle body I think you are referring to. And the flippers are the butterfly valves.
Davidlim Neutral Newbie August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 What's your car's mileage? It could be due to some slight wear with the engine mounting. I've personally experienced this on my 8-year old Sienta.

Forummer Neutral Newbie August 21, 2012 Author Share August 21, 2012 I cleaned my throttle body about 6 months ago. My spark plugs were changed 20,000 km ago and they were iridium. Normally I use 98 Esso petrol so knocking is out.
Aj123 Neutral Newbie August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 currently driving a Chevy and experience same issue. I manage to isolate my issue, as such it only happen when my aircon is on. if my aircon is off, no jerk at all. maybe u want to isolate the issue before heading to the right specialist. this is to avoid unnecessary cost. btw, I choose to live with it, for now. do share ur experience if u manage to get it resolved. Get your trusted workshop to do all these checks. It's small issues if as of above-mentioned. Cheers!
