Been looking at this... Worth it to make the switch? Haven't seen the car in the flesh and planning to do so later...

Comments please...

Guessing u look at this car means u need MPV? Think the dep/yr at 12~13k seems quite reasonable.

Tho personally i prefer jap MPVs for the lower maintenace costs..

60k milege like quite high for 2yrold car... better to test drive and get trusted mechanic to look at it carefully before committing..

On a personal basis... i absolutely hate that hand brake... remind me of the renault one...

my 2c

I'm driving a Mazda 5 now and my kids are growing up... Total of 6 in my family (3 kids, helper, my wife and me)... My current car's spare parts are perhaps higher than Mercs due to the fact that Mazdas are not that common here... Hondas and Toyotas are over my budget...

Not a must to change but just thinking ahead a bit...

Spoke to the dealer and expected to hear that they are not so willing to allow test drives unless the price is right... Wanted to bring the car to a Ford specialist (Allen Workshop) but he suggested to go to STA or VICOM instead as the latter are more "neutral"...

The handbrake is a novelty... Have read that it must be lubricated regularly to keep the squeaks away...

Picture looks good but Ford car FC higher? And about 2 years car mileage already 60K, possible?

Yes that's the common understanding... Actually my Mazda 5's FC is also not that good...

The mileage is also one of the doubting factors...

Turbocharged

That bad ah?

Joke only lah, Ford is one of the most underrated brands in SG. They are pretty reliable and popular in Europe. I felt their models are quite well priced although the looks of the cars are not so fantastic looking.

My dad used to own 2 model of ford many years back and I really loved them. very stable rides. No complains of major failures too.

To be fair I would think all car brands will have their share of horror stories...

COE $82K, OMV at $24k and selling at $113K worth it?

I guess as long as the car is well maintained it should last... Luck is also plays a part...

Twincharged

For the family bus, you still should get a reliable japanese one. For me it's only Toyota and honda. They are really slightly better than the rest. Parts supply is plentyful. With the ford you are at the mercy of the dealer should something major breaks cause hardly anyone else will hold the parts. Unless you can afford to have down time while you get the parts shipped in.

depreciation is reasonable and shld still be under warranty. I'll certainly pick this over any jap mpv anytime. once u experience the torque of a TC, i tink u confirm wanna junk ur NA Mz5 liao. so be prepared to buy once u test drive.......haha.
