Scion Turbocharged June 7, 2016 Share June 7, 2016 for those who like history... some events in our regional areas (Singapore, Peninsula Malaysia, Indonesia, Borneo) that might have altered our history completely (if they succeeded) Indonesia Raya, or the Greater Indonesia first proposed during WWII and collaborated with the Japanese, in return to gain an independent Greater Indonesia. but the Japanese never agreed cos they wanted to control whole of Southeast Asia at the end of WWII, Britain took back Malaya, Singapore and north Borneo, while Indonesia became independent from the Dutch during the Konfrontasi in the 60s, this idea was proposed again, but in the end, Indonesia recognised the formation of the Federation of Malaysia Maphilindo, or Greater Malayan Federation to unite the Malay people at Malaya, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Sarawak and Sabah. But the British and Malaya thought it was a conspiracy to stop the formation of the Federation of Malaysia. this idea was discarded when the Federation of Malaysia was formed, and later ASEAN formed in 1967 sometimes you wonder what would have happened to Singapore if these plans succeeded ↡ Advertisement

Evillusion Supersonic June 7, 2016 Share June 7, 2016 DnA studies has shown that Pinoy, Indonesian, Malays and the dayaks share a nearly common ancestary. So why not? Their DnA motifs shows they has inhabited this area for more than 10000 yrs before recorded history. You can check out the Sundaland hypothesis. On another note, Malaysia claim all malay came from there too..

Datsun366 Turbocharged June 7, 2016 Share June 7, 2016 Any more history available. I am curious to know more. The fact that DNA is used as science to give credulence to claims is highlighting what is starkly absent. The Mayans and Aztecs have tangible evidence of culture and civilization. What existed before at Borobudur, what existed before Borobudur? I am simply curious about the anthropology, not the perceived value or achievement. Which book to recommend?
