We know you love your hot showers after a long day at work, but this can dry out your skin. But that doesn't mean you have to soak in an ice bath - you can opt for warm water instead. Also, avoid harsh soaps and pat dry with a soft towel before moisturising to get soft, smooth skin.
2. Protect your skin
Our mantra is "prevention is better than cure". Sun exposure not only causes skin problems, but also increases the risk of skin cancer, so ensure that you’re well protected by a sunblock or sunscreen with SPF30 or higher on your face, neck and ears.
3. Don't smoke
It's unhealthy. And no, not just for your body, but for your skin too. Smoking damages collagen and elastin, and it's safe to say that no amount of treatments will ever be able to restore your skin's health. Quitting would be your best bet.
4. Eat well
Include foods that contain essential fatty acids, like salmon, tuna and almonds, in your diet. Of course, fruits and vegetables are equally important as well. Drinking tea also helps to prevent the breakdown of collagen and safeguards your skin, so three cups a day will do you good.
5. Reduce the stress
Take 10 minutes off every day to pamper yourself. Wear a mask, turn off your phone an hour before bedtime or read a book. If you've got money to spare, enrol in a yoga class for the ultimate Zen workout. Otherwise, you can always meditate at home.
