My Latio AT is coming to 7yrs old next month.
In human terms, she can take CPF liao.

But these days, i'm starting to get only 10km/l FC.
Any other old Latio drivers? Or is it just mine that has aging problems.

What I guess is wear & tear... Old cars have engines which has undergone wear will have loses throgh pistons, valves, gears etc. Due to improper/inadequate maintenance, frictional losses will be higher with time. With proper maintenance of cars/equipments you can keep fuel consumption low. tongue.gif

Have you change spark plugs? Could try doing throttle body cleaning, next check if tyres are correctly inflated.

My near 7 years AT Latio - drops gradually from 15km/l from new to about 9km/l a year with the empty light coming up near 400km travelled.
Then, TC suggested me change the fuel gauge sensor in last servicing. Now, it's back to near 13km/l after fuel gauge sensor replaced. sleep.gif

My latio CVT is abt 5+ yrs old. Have always been on Nissan NPMP all this while.
How much is the package @ Autosaver, for how many sessions?

As for FC, it currently ranges from 12+ to 13+km/ltr. Running on Esso 92 most of the times.
50% city driving, but expressway sometimes also jam up too.

Assuming engine everything is fine, then like old folks got arthritis, bone loss something like that.

Have to adjust driving style loh. My 16 year old civic still gives me 12 to 14 km/l,. I am not a light footed driving by any means though I will just feather the throttle if I am really in relax mood. Coasting in gear also helps. Do not coast in neutral as its dangerous and use more petrol.

That's why I bother to mention that change dud... stock in engine bay lar ...

BTW, just to share, Tyre does make a different... I changed my old v12 with ku31 recently and straight away my fc drop to 12.5 region for 4 tanks already.... maybe ku31 is heavier and gripper..

You could try give your Latio a dose of strong injector cleaner, change your air filter and change your engine oil to those high cleaning type, this will free your piston ring from sticking and improve compression ratio maybe.

btw, what engine oil did you used for the past few servicing?

drivingcar.gif Hi my latio is 6.5 years old with 17" rims and body kit and still gives me 11.5 to 12 km using SPC petrol. you may want to send in to clean your fuel throtle and check the tyre PSI.
