This one on the market for quite some time already. I dare say more than 6 months. First started off as direct seller, then dealer, then now back to direct seller.

Superb may be a good car in terms of its features and technology, but its looks just ain't sharp. Too bulky for my liking.

Saab Parts AB is still a profitable venture. Futhermore, there are aftermarket suppliers. Saab cars don't disappear all of a sudden so as long as there is still demand, why should the supply be cut?

its actually smaller than the accord and far lesser common than an accord
just like lambos or ferraris, you can drive for days without seeing another similar model around

whats there not to like about it?

rear aircons for the price of a japanese car

lets not forget that the interior is completely VW, you are effectively getting VW at japanese car prices

I had a used one which worked out well for me for a couple of years. Just make sure the previous owner can show your the servicing records.

It is a very nice solid car. Call me old fashioned but I love the quirky dash.

Seats are comfortable and the doors are very heavy.

FC about 9km per Ltr? Car seems heavy. Specs show 9.8sec for century dash.

The LPTs return better mileage. I have a HPT version - 7-8+km/l.

Since you're on the accord, I'd prefer the accord's looks over the superb's, but that's solely my opinion. Reason being, it looks much more proportionate and sleek. Yea, you have the exclusivity of driving a rare car, but if it doesn't look good, that's not going to work out either. Take the Chery QQ for example. You can drive around in that car for days without having to bump into another QQ.

i have to agree with this. i was tempted to try skoda given its respectable reputation. but then whenever i see skodas on singapore roads, the look kind of dampen my interest.

they are not ugly but maybe looked too bland and uninteresting to me.

I have to say a car's looks is akin to a woman's looks. She can have big cups, small waist, big eyes and whatnot on paper, but if the overall package is not in proportion, it doesn't excite.

haha, very apt analogy.....

that's why women and cars are "gadgets" that are men's favorite toys. we use the same criteria to assess them!

Great car. I own a 9-5 too. Only downside is minor/problems happen at a rate of once every 3-4 months.
Good to set aside $3000 every year for repairs and maintenance.

How did we end up talking about women and skodas on this thread? laugh.gif

Sorry to TS for digressing too much.

Don't have a 9-5, but 9-3 combi aero in the family. It's a great car to drive and own. Looks good, handles well and relatively problem free. Only grouses are that it can be a little thirsty at 7-8+km/l and the interior plastic parts could have been much better as some are prone to fading or peeling.
