First a hardtop Boxster, now ditto the Z4. Didn't cars use to start off as hardtops before getting the roof chopped off?

side profile is nice but the front and rear 3/4 profile view looks a bit funny maybe will look nicer with a longer boot/rear end i prefer the current softop over this

BMW's big bosses are very well aware of the backlash from their stupid designs. Which is why their 7-Series have gone through minor facelifts, while their stupidity had been toned down in their volume-selling 3-Series.

 

Truth is, some designers have "it," while some don't. Chris Bangle clearly belongs in the latter category.

They say it's BMW answer to Porsche's 3.4litre Porsche Cayman. I say "hahahahaha".

 

The Z3 coupe year back looked like an afterthought cause it WAS an afterthought - the Z3 was built to be soft-top. So they just slapped on the hard top after few years.

 

BMW now insist that the Z4 coupe WILL NOT look like an afterthought.

 

What do you think? Who are they trying to kid?

Just when you thought they can't do any worse than the Z4 droptop, along comes this monstrosity. And we thought BMW would have learnt from their past mistakes by now. This shows the rot within their design department has not abated yet.
