Hi all,

I am sure everyone noticed that there are A LOT MORE cars with DIY LED clusters on their cars now. Some just white LED, some multi colour etc..

Are these road legal?

Some really went all the way and 'chng' till the car machiam like Chingay Procession Car, with the front grille, under carriage, door handles, rear number plates, boot lid etc all lined with LEDs. Doesn't the roving TP has anything to say about these cars?

It was like previously when people like to put 2 lights on the window washer fluid dispenser. That is fully stated on LTA website that it is not allowed as it causes 'confusion' to other vehicles. So these LEDs now.. lagi worse right?

(I must say some of the cars are done up really horribly.. the white LED are not evenly lit, the alignment is crooked etc...what are they thinking huh... crazy.gif )

100% illegal

cannot help it
distasteful car dressing up is just part of their lifestyle and culture

hmm... sometime i really wonder why ppl will do that and get unwanted attention from TP. Spend money and time to do up the car, and EVERYDAY drive around risking fine and all..

Those outside the light housing aside.. how about those that are installed WITHIN the light housing like the Audi's?

"Fitting decorative lamps to vehicles are not allowed as they may cause confusion and distraction to other road users.
Wiper washer LEDs, undercarriage neon lights, vehicle interior neon lights, flashing decorative lights, etc.)"

Info from LTA- Vehicle Modifications that are not allowed
http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onem...ot_allowed.html

undestand that the fine for such mod its not so heave, $70. but whether it is $70/ LED or neon or lightsource, or $70 per "caught in action" i dunno. if interested to get more info, u can call 1800- call-LTA

Basically, anything that is not manufacturer-approved is illegal.

So those on Audis, which are standard with the car, are allowed.
