Test drived Kia Forte Koup

however, i came across in sgcarmart, that for 65k, i can buy a 3yr old RX-8 215bhp 6A/T...

 

i'd anytime take the RX-8 over the Koup 2.0L man...

 

The only thing u can save on RX-8 is the road tax since it is using a 1.3 litre engine but the FC is definitely less than 10km/l

I MUST be daft not to get the 3yr old RX8 since its the same price. Why would I want to waste my 5 years of savings on a posermobile like the Koup 1.6A, when I can get a REAL man's car, eh??? Nothing like that rotary engine blasting down Geylang at 3am in the morning, picking up REAL women who understand what performance means.

 

I got nothing against RX-8 owners. I just have something against kunts who think I'm a poser just cos I drive a hot looking car with no pickup. Guess what: I like my car - Very much. The drive. The interior. The exterior. Even the fake double exhaust (which sounds great btw.). I could care less if some RX8 zooms past or some Golf GTI beats me off the green light.

I think, as this is a public forum for cars, a car receiving lousy remarks or compliments is part & parcel la. you can't get everyone to love a certain car, there will always be 2 sides to the story. anyway, since its a public forum, i think everyone is entitled to their opinion, good or bad. take them with a pinch of salt.

 

koup is a decent looking car without having to break a bank. some people like the price, some hate the brand, some dislike the performance etc etc but they are not the ones driving the car, you are.

 

in my opinion, i wldn't compare a 3yr old rx8 with a new koup. i wld do it between 2 cars of the same new car price. yeah for sure, rx8 and koup might be in the sporty category (more on looks) but price wise, a new rx8 cost alot more, explains why the better performance you'll get.

 

P.S i'm more or less neutral towards the koup, no hate but no love.

I don't think the Koup is a poser car, like what some members here think. I personally don't like to drive super fast. I just want a nice beautiful car at an affordable price, which is exactly what I got. Its a lifestyle car, and it reflects my philosophy in life - get things done fast, yet look good doing them.

 

You can have your RX8. Its a great car, but a very different personality from the Koup. I used to drive Mazda 2 & 3 and even the old 929, so I know a thing or two about this brand, and the FC that goes along with it. And like all great yet accesible cars, its common as dirt. There are enough EVOs, WRXs and RX8s out there. I spot at least 10 of each a day driving.

 

Yesterday I had someone ask me "eh, your car nice ah... got power or not?" He drives a subaru so naturally he wants to make power comparisons. But seriously, I don't need to be like him. He just wants to put people down for being posers. Yet he's old, ugly, and looks like he's having a mid-life crisis. Nuff said. :)

Get an R8... it is nice, 2 door like your KOUP and you can choose to drive slow if you want to. To me, i don't mind having an extra common as dirt 7series... will choose it ahead of the Koup any day even when it is COMMON AS DIRT.

let's face it, the kia coup is simply a cheap poser car for poor people who wants to look good but they cannot afford anything more expensive than the price of a mid-range saloon car. but these people will keep harping on how good value for money it is, and they dont want to spend unnecessary money on more expensive cars. but the trut is that they actuality dont have the money, else they would have bought other better cars. thats why you see more of those expensive cars on the road than the kia coup, because even cheap many people also dont want it.

There are different car for different market and people. This is mass market car and at the lower segment, no doubt about that. But it is truely a beautiful designed car. It always catches my attention when I see one. It looks better than many other more expensive cars. Look at it this way, same car same price but it is looking better and better. So, the designer deserves credit and the buyers will naturally like their car more.

 

New buyers will feel excited with their new car and want to share their joy. Why are people bashing this car and their new owners??
