What are "shorts on oil"? And if they're up, shouldn't oil prices go up as well?? Sorry, really dunno anything about such matters, hence the seemingly stupid questions! blush.gif

He's talking about his short positions on oil - he's either sold oil stocks (which he didn't actually possess, hence called a short sale), sold oil futures contracts, or bought put options (which negatively track underlying oil prices). When oil goes down, his position gains value.

don worry...petrol prices on go down even if oil prices dip. but since the oil prices dip...be prepared for fuel price to go up once the oil prices start to incline. that's the pattern these oil cartels hv been playing.

oil price drop 4-5 times, they will drop once. but oil price goes up once, they follow straight away.

Thanks for explaining!! Very kind! Too bad I still cannot see the logic behind "shorts", which to me, are pieces of garment that you wear!

Haha! In any case, I've always been hopeless with finance and stuff about the economy. That's why I'll probably die penniless & insane!! Hahaha! laugh.gif

I am expecting a 5 cent per litre drop within a few days unless oil price move up to above USD 75 per litre early next week.

Hahaha.. seriously, this is the fun part about words. One phrase can mean so many thing. Different people see the same phrase, can see different thing also.

Never depend on words...

Now the crude oil price drop almost USD1 as compare with 1 to 2 week ago. Now USD69+ but why our petrol price still remain the same?
