Everyday i spot about 3 sciroccos on the road.

Mostly 2.0L version

Seems like there are more sciroccos than polo drivers.

Anyway guys, how do i persuade my parents to buy another car?

I've tried almost all ways. Except telling them im thinking of getting a class 2B license. Although im kind of interested in learning a new skill but i feel its like kinda of threatening them to get me a car?

anyone can share their experience?

You won't find much love from this forum regarding advice on prying a car out of your parents' pockets, especially if it's a Scirocco. A car is a real big ticket item and unlike many things you own, has significance maintenance costs. My advice is simply to give up the idea until you earn your own keep. Don't burden your parents with such a huge dent in their savings - if they're unwilling in the first place, it's likely that they did not budget for an item for their son that costs so much beyond your education and they have all the rights and reasons to do so.

May I asked how old are you and why don't you buy the car yourself?

Still depend on parents???

Friends ard me be it female or male managed to get a car few yrs later aft grad.

Well, some of ladies I know in their early 20s are able to afford BMW, merc

thru their hard work in night club or social escort.

Maybe you can persuade your parents that you will do the same if they don't

buy you the car.

Mostly, it's 1.4 from what i gathered at volks forum

Scirocco and the Golf is complete opp. More people buy the 1.4 for Scirocco and for Golf, more buys the GTI rather than the 1.4GT..

thanks for the advice

honestly, i feel that the main reason why my parents are not willing to buy because my dad and mom cannot come to an agreement on how much each person should contribute. its like mom say 50 50 dad say 70 30. in the end they drop the topic and the children suffer. [bigcry]

I think that for the golf, it's different in a way that when you're at the showroom, you know that the gti is the way to go. The 3 door gti looks really hot.

Well, for me. it's more for my wife when we get married later this year. I stay at one end of singapore while she works at the opposite end so fuel economy is an issue. That's why i went for the more economical route.

if you are not financially independent yet, just share whatever car your family currently has..why clamour for your parents to buy another one? save up and get your own car when you are able to afford it..

hmm whats wrong with asking parents to buy a car when they can easily afford it? many youngster get their first car this way too.

i cant share the current family car because both my parents need it for work.

besides, all im asking for is a 2nd hand car that is affordable.

But why should they? Shouldn't one learn to be independent instead of relying on parents?

While some (I say some) do get their first cars paid for by their parents, there are also many others who pay out of their own pockets for their own car.

Re: The Scirocco. I agree it's getting common. One of my neighbours bought a blue one, so I see it everyday.
