Metal looks nicer for sure but whether it is better is arguable. There are still rubber components when using the metal valves, which are necessary in order to have proper air seal. So you still need to change these metal valves every so often. Problem is, it takes a little longer to change since you need to screw it down properly.

Benefits of an all rubber valve is that it is quick to change and easy to change so it does get changed more often than the metal ones...which unless you specify to the tyre shop, most probably wont get changed ever! And this would not be a good thing.

Some valves may looks like metal, but its just a metal sleeve slide over the rubber valve body.

The real metal valve has a nut on it. The one with the metal sleeve doesn't have. Quite easy to differentiate.

is it more for cosmetic reasons or the metal valves are more durable & not likely
to leak so easily.....

Tire caps make no difference in practicality.

Just looks.

But looks might tempt pple to steal your caps....

Rubber tubless valves are snapped into position by a level tool. Metal tubless valves are hold to the rim by thread stem and lock nut

I think the metal or rubber... it mainly for the cosmetic (to match ur rim)..

frankly.. i will use the rubber one... it will be change whenever i change a new tire... so the rubber hardening will not affect the seal.

also my one i use was like hybrid... the base was all rubber.. but the stem was metallic... not those nut lock type.

why bother about metal valve, if you end up getting 1 and could be old stock valve (rubber seal also hardened)
it will only give you more problem in the near future.
seems like some people put cosmetic in prior to safety

Changed my cracked rubber valve to metal type. Look like TR -48E in the above picture. The crack was scary. Metal won't have this kind of issue. Changed at S$10 x 4pcs.

I guess he meant the tire valve cap. The external ones. Used to cover the valves.
