Hi forumers, just want to share an unpleasant experience, don’t know where to post it, so I guess this is probably the best place.
I bought a PI car recently, it comes with 5 years warranty provided by TWM: http://www.warranty.com.sg/index.aspx. From my understanding, most of the PI bundled this warranty package with their cars. It’s very unfortunate that on the second week after collected the car, the ABS fault light turned on. Following TWM’s procedure, I sent the car to their workshop. They kept my car for one week to diagnose it, which I was without a car of the entire week. After that, they informed me that the ABS pump was faulty and need to be replaced. Beside the ABS fault, the car is normal, so I collected back my car and wait for them to get the replacement ABS pump. After that, there’s totally no update from TWM workshop. I have to call them every now and then to ask for update. If I call their general line given the car number, no one knows what’s happening. I had to try to get to the particular supervisor that served me, and it’s really hard to get him. But after getting the particular supervisor, his reply is always waiting for part. He told me the car is a new model so it’s difficult to find the part. One month past and the same story goes. There’s no committed turnaround time in the warranty contract, so they can legally drag forever, there’s nothing much I can do. Finally, I decided to check with my regular workshop and they found a new ABS pump within one day. The ABS pump is quite expensive (3k+). I totally understand by giving me the ABS pump, TWM will be making a lost for their warranty package (2k+). I did a search in the Internet, there are few posts of similar experience for expensive claim with TWM. According to the selling point in their web sites, their warranty package is to guard against expensive repairs, but it seems that’s not the case. As of this post, no update from TWM yet. I will update the post in case if they give me a positive answer, which I actually had given up with them. That’s all I want to share, hope the information can be helpful to the fellow forumers. its common, even if you go to the AD, they will make you wait for a few weeks for a common parts like absorber, power steering pump... bear in mind that we are talking about some of the most commonly available car model in SG...
I have gave up on these s*ckers... they only care to earn your hard earn money from the servicings, but when problem comes, they will simply drag. i stop servicing my car with after the 1st 2 "free" servicing (foc on labour only) them cause i know that in long term, the so call "warranty" is actually the extra $$$ you paid for their ridiculars priced servicing package.... just imagine, if you are spending $150 more for each 10k servicing, how much are you paying for the so call 3/5 yrs warranty? the money you saved is enough to cover almost any damage if you know where to repair. Not true. I paid Borneo to service and they are very prompt to replace faulty parts once I feedback to them. They gave me a free battery when they tested my battery weak. All in the servicing package. I told them my steering rack faulty. They replaced one new one for me. I told them my side mirror faulty, also replace one. I can't see whether they replace or repair lah, but so long no issue I'm fine. And they don't charge me though. If you bring outside, spoil and you bring back. They may not honour and if you bring to workshop, they will tell you even more things spoil if you don't know them.

Yes, they like to keep your car for a LOOOONG time. I gave up on them recently...on one occassion they even returned the car to me with the steering wheel not straight. Simple things like this cannot even do properly...what about the serious issues on the car |

You are not the only one. I think there are many many who are in the same shoes as you. Look at the hugh number of cars at the parking lot beside their workshop. Same strategy. Keep yr car for days, weeks. Wear you out so you take yr car elsewhere and pay for repair out of yr own pocket. |

Me too. Bought silver warranty with them when I bought a used cefiro. Thought it was not bad an idea to purchase warranty for my used cefiro in case any major parts "up lorry". Cefiro parts can be quite ex. Now i'm not sure if I would renew warranty with them when it expires.
