Cars my dad used to roll in
![]() While on the topic of photos of nostalgic cars in Singapore, i managed to find a few old photos of cars my dad used to roll in. Pretty awesome stuff. ![]() Above are 2 Mazda Capellas (or RX-2 if you prefer), top white one is a sedan and the 2nd photo with my mum inside, is the Coupe. Imagine rolling 10inch wide rims and mad camber back then and telling the folks you're "Hellaflush". They'll probably beat you with a stick. ![]() Here's a Ford Escort with my mum again. ![]() ![]() Awesome Alfetta GTV. ![]() Toyota A60 Celica with the cool flip up lights. ![]() Mazda 929 Limited Coupe. Otherwise known as the Cosmo. ![]() Datsun Nissan 280ZX Fairlady. ![]() Porsche 928 (S1), was on loan from a friend. The aircon never worked but it was still awesome to sit in. ![]() And a mystery photo from my mum, circa 1964. After some internet sleuthing, i found out it's a Nissan Cedric 30 Series Mark 1. The first Cedric ever i guess. I am sure there are a few more photos missing in the collection and hopefully i will be able to dig them up. Hope everyone enjoyed this short nostalgic post thanks to my dad. -------------------- My blrog: Garage36.blogspot.com |

Thanks for the photos!!
My first boss used to drive an ford excort rallye (or was it GT), the exhaust sounded loud!! the Mazda 929 coupe was big and many nite life uncles used them to fetch bar girls (equivalent of today's ktv mei mei) for supper at 2am i sat in a fren's prosche 928 before, the V8 was silky smooth.......... |

I know there is a Z31 300ZX, forever on sale by Autobahn... Z32s maybe 1 or 2 left. i woudn't mind any possible leads or contacts to a 280ZX. -------------------- My blrog: Garage36.blogspot.com |

I like the number plate alphabet fonts and numbers on the Mazda Capella. Produced by "Ace" plate from UK. Normally there is a small ace sticker at the right corner below of the plate. |

Thanks for sharing these oldies . . . .
Ask your dad if he knows a mechanic in AMK Park 2 who has the RE 2. I was trying to recall if the 4 door white one is the one that he used to have. He repainted it to lime green after he bought it. The VRN just look so familiar . . . . . |

The Mazda 929 was so ahead of it's time with the Starship console. Makes me wonder why my dad would buy a W123 over a Mazda 929. yes, it's quite 'groundbreaking', then other jap models followed. in fact jap cars in that era put digital meters on their top end b&b car, i had a galant with full digital speedo and everything else..... actually if the speed varies up and down when we drove on the road, the digi readouts were hard to comprehen.... the number kept changing -------------------- 我地呢班打工仔, 通街走直头系坏肠胃, 温个些少到月底点够驶(吃个鬼), 咪话无乜所谓, 最弊波士郁的发威(癫过鸡), 一咪系处系唔系就乱黎吠, 哎亲加薪块面拿起恶睇(扭下计)...我地呢班打工仔 一生一世为钱币做奴隶, 个种辛苦折堕讲出吓鬼(死比你睇),半斤八两 就算有福都无你享... |

Precious photos man.. Next time can keep and show your grandchildren!
Still remember my Dad's first car ever, Subaru Vivio, go up hill must off air-con, raining carpet will be soaked and wash car, pax will get wet. Then came the Suzuki Swift, I think was in 2004, but crashed at CTE in 2006 and total loss.. The modern cars this days are no match for the cars back then! |

I saw a MY old Merc with this 929 'crafted' (or transplanted) to replace the original Merc dashboard. (the same merc has a heart transplant also: a S15 engine!!) really boleh. |
