Hi guys I'm posting based on my recent experience which I hope will be useful..
Recently I was stopped by LTA along Woodlands Ave 12 around Seagate and was asked to go for inspection the same day I was confident as my ride was done up according LTA regulation so to my horror I was failed for my exhaust system which was legal accompained with a certificate when I bought my ride a couple of years back. But failed the inspection due to last digit of serial number was not clear due to scratches and for that I will be issued a summon for illigal mod Now need to appeal to LTA and if appeal rejected will be fined and need to get a new set of exhaust. A word of advise..please if possible send your ride for inspection 1st before purchase. -------------------- The Power of Dreams! |

Dats the prob.. really b-------t.. the staff at the inspection centre dun even 1 2 listen 2 my explaination and worse of all they are foreigners..

I really suggest you speak to someone in-charge.
Your exhaust is a legal exhaust, they have pictures of it installed in their records when obtaining the certificate. An exhaust is an external item and prone to outside elements, so how can they fine you for "unreadable last digit" ? Photo comparison will show it is the same exhaust! It is totally ridiculous for them to collect money from you for that. Pull out these few points:-

People "on the ground" making their KPI look good, leave it to you to appeal to the occifers at LTA. Shouldn't be an issue in the end.

Hey guys guess what I got a letter from LTA and I was given a $100 fine for failure to report change of exhaust and modified tail lamps. Phew.. after all the troubles and $$ spent luckily they assess my case professionally.
