Vit4wd 1st Gear April 15, 2005 Share April 15, 2005 Hi WBucket & Kelisa owners, How is the fuel consumption for your car and is the 3 cylinder engine noisy? My friend is keen in geting one. By the way, the 1l manual is selling for only RM33K in M'sia, or S$14.4K!!! ↡ Advertisement

Wbucket Clutched April 16, 2005 Share April 16, 2005 My car's FC ave at 16km/L. Still in run-in stage using mineral engine oil, will be changing to semi-syn at my second servicing, then full syn after my third. By then I hope to improve FC by at least 1km/L or better if 2km/L. 3 cylinder engine is definitely noisy, think it is the in-balance thing or something. But I burst ICE, so no issue from me. I know swift is a lot more quiet, maybe you can suggest to your friend that. I am also doing some sound-proofing to my ride (DIY), but the main target is to improve my BASS!!! Ya, it is definitely cheaper there. I heard Vios was at about RM80k 6 months ago. So about S36k? Anyway, at least you can service and get parts there that can save you 75% of you budget. I heard their service center is like Toyota's in Singapore. Very big, and comfortable. The service there is top-notch. But the one here (J&J) is already condemn by most of our club members. Ask you friend to test-drive it, and Picanto. Cause Picanto will serve as a good reference. The balance between space and power. Do visit our forum, and 1 meeting coming up, might want to join us? Got a "Xiao Bei" that might interest your friend?

Vit4wd 1st Gear April 23, 2005 Author Share April 23, 2005 Thank you for all your feedback, My friend booked the Kelisa yesterday at S$41,900 incl free sports rims, which I thought was a good deal considering the low cost factor of the car. While the Kelisa has a $2K disadvantage to the Picanto, the 130kg weight advantage (Kelisa 800kg, Picanto 930kg) means a petrol savings, plus savings in rd tax that will cover up this extra $2K over 10 years. And cheaper spare parts too.
Vit4wd 1st Gear April 23, 2005 Author Share April 23, 2005 So you are residing in M'sia? I saw many Picantos on a recent drive up to KL. Must be gaining popularity there. Also, the Iswara seems more popular than the Wira. Iswara owners says its more economical that the Wira which is heavier. Good thing you still get brand new Iswara in M'sia. It's been discontinued in Singapore.

Wbucket Clutched April 23, 2005 Share April 23, 2005 I am Singaporean living in Singapore. The 2 cars you see in the pictures are friends of mine in Kelisa club. They often organise meet-up with our Malaysia counterpart. Do ask your friend to drop by if he is free. Remember, you can save thousands by asking for advise. Wbucket Clutched April 23, 2005 Share April 23, 2005 1 thing about kelisa is the stock alarm. It could easily by break-in, and since this is "their" car, stripping it up frist is easy too. I have friends in Singapore whoes items were taken from the car, but there is no sign of breaking in. Or those who accidently open 2 cars at the same time, when they press their remote. Same could happen to other stock alarm of other brands too. Rule of thumb is don't drive in and leave your car at un-familiar places.

Viviobluerex Clutched April 27, 2005 Share April 27, 2005 Okie,I can explain. I was borned in Penang. My parents were on a holiday there when I am still in the womb. Then I decided to eat Penang laksa and came out quite unexpectedly. I was given a MY birth cert then. So MY consider this as a merit because I can have the rights to choose where I want to be, such blunder is common when "International babies" are born on a foreign shore. I am very much Singaporean, but with MY birth cert. So they so called "hand-pick" such people and who are professional and able to contribute to MY's economy and were selected in this offer for non-conditional PR status. I accepted it and that's why.. hope i didnt confuse you. ↡ Advertisement
