Hi Guys,

Those below $200 package. Given the Light transmission to be 80%, which cheaper solar film has the highest Infra-Red rejection, say above 40%. Let's forget about V-cool, 3M, Hu-Opt.

But what is the rejection of IR. Many dark looking film is just dark looking.
Speedsun
Tried the cheap one before, heat rejection not effective. It could lower down the heat temperature inside my car at most 2 degree when park under sun for a period of time as compare without solar film.

Go to JB to do.... cheap, no brand.

OR go to Car Beauty at Ubi, opposite the Car Mega building. just pay for the films and labour charge.

I don't know if I am optimistic but in this forum, you search under comestic you see some shop Unique...is offering $168 and IR rejection is 38%. Am I still optimistic? No right

The problem with installing at Car Beauty is that they only do the 4 doors, rear windscreen but not the front windscreen.

Ever heard of Rikecool? I have a voucher for Rikecool valued at $1300 for package Platinum 50 for sedan car. Specs are:

Ultraviolet Rejection 99.86 %
Visible Light Transmittance 55 %
Infra-Radiation Heat Rejection 92 %
Total Solar Energy Rejected 60 %
Ultraviolet Transmittance <1 %

From the website www.rikecool.com.sg, it looks like Platinum offers the highest IR Heat Rejection of 92% so I think it shld be effective for our hot weather. As the voucher expires 31 Mar 2009, I'm letting it go at $899. Anyone interested pse sms me at 93650210.
Newkid
bro, check if "Visible Light Transmittance 55%" can pass LTA??

Rikecool is lousy for the price paid. I did before.

According to LTA guidelines, front windscreen and 2 front side windows must allow at least 70% light while the rear windscreen and 2 rear windows must be at least 25%.

In Rikecool's website, it is stated that for Platinum 50 package, the front half of the car will use Premier 85 which allows 83% light through. Looks like it will comply with LTA guidelines.

Can you pse elaborate for us? I got no idea.

I can answer ur questions coz I juz kana recently...

im driving a megane cc , just wan to ask u guys other den inspection , who else were summon me ? road block ? tp passby ? LTA bikers are frequently seen on the road nowadays. I got pulled over at a traffic light. I was 3 cars away from the stop line at a traffic light. LTA bike stopped beside me and signal me to pull over in front... Probability of incident = 75%

what if kn road block but my front window is down , wat will happen ??
Road block usually check for drink driving or valid road tax... Probability of incident = 25%
I did get stopped at a road block but it was coz of my exhaust (& other modifications)...

what is the summon for window too dark ??? lol sorry huh lots of question
I plead to give chance and tore off my solar film on the spot. In the end, kana warning. Not sure whether got kana summon nt... still waiting for letter.

The point is - if u wan to install non-LTA friendly/compliant stuff, juz be prepared to be caught. dry.gif
You may wish to consider curtains as an alternative.
Ghimster
thx bro for taking your time to ans my question .

im wondering if my front is jus 50% , im not too much dif compare to the LTA 70% rite ? bro wat % is ur front when u kn ?

cos i saw lots of car with very dark tinted window now , tot the TP not that strict anymore only when go inspection :|

I just installed the tintsycool for the Chery A5, Platinum series. It is a nano-ceramic film, quite good heat rejection. However after installing, I felt that I should have gone for the Platinum plus which has excellent heat rejection. Overall not bad. Get someone who have done it before to go with you as that guy will have the discount card so that you can get addtiional discount.
