Accent01leo Neutral Newbie November 8, 2005 Share November 8, 2005 What is the cause of noisy wheels? Could it be not balanced properly? I just changed to a pair of wheels on the rear, and they are making "hoe..hoe...hoe..." sounds. Darth_mel 1st Gear November 8, 2005 Share November 8, 2005 If bearings are OK, there will be no whining/whirring sound. At least it was for my case.

Accent01leo Neutral Newbie November 8, 2005 Author Share November 8, 2005 it doesn't have these sounds before the change of wheels. immediately after changing got these noise now...sigh. must go and ask them to check on my wheels...
Hazmano Neutral Newbie November 8, 2005 Share November 8, 2005 Are you using the same type of tires as previously used? Does the sound comes from both sides of the rear wheels? Well if the sound comes from only one of the wheels than it is likely a bearing problem. If you can jack up the car with gear in neutral and hand brake down, turn the wheel manually, it should rotate freely.
Accent01leo Neutral Newbie November 8, 2005 Author Share November 8, 2005 (edited) thanks.. will try to jack up and try whether is the bearing problem or not. I am not using back the same brand of tyres as previous, does it matter? Edited November 8, 2005 by Accent01leo
Hazmano Neutral Newbie November 8, 2005 Share November 8, 2005 Well logically if you are using the same brand or model of tyre as you used to, you would know what to expect of. Certain model of tyres are pretty noisy, even when they are new, especially sports tyres. My guess for your noise problem should be from the tyres itself.
