The above pics shows the results of my own DIY detailing after 2 weeks. Anyone got really good Tyre Shine to recommend?? Mine got 'washed off' after rain, Which makes me mad! I'd been using Formula 1 Black Gold and Black Magic, Doesnt seemed to help as can see in the pic.

Nicw work there bro, care to share your procedure and products used [;)] ? Btw is there any picture that shows the whole car ?

As for tyre shine you can try the new Mother's FX series tyre shine, pretty good in my opinion.

Altis around 1.5 yrs old. Step practiced are:

1. Wash with car shampoo. (currently using some cheap brand)

2. Claybar (soft99)

3. Polish or Deep Shine (Autogylm)

4. Extra Gloss (Autoglym)

5. Work on rims, tyre, vacuum interior while waiting for sealant to cure.

Good shine. thumbsup.gifsunny.gif

I always like the shine produced with the autoglym combo but the curing time was the factor that cos me to try others. frown.gif

Why not? U can alwayz use the paint renovator on the surface to minimize any minor swirl and scratch marks, follow by resin polish and extra gloss. But be careful not to overuse the paint renovator as its kinda abrasive! Hope that works for you :)

bro,

thanks for the advise.

Now, what type of pad is suitable for those jobs?

swirl remover, minor scratch, and watermark and some bird stain.

Here is the plan.

I will use Meg pad since these is only pad which is available through retail outlet.

so, which pad is for which product?

Paintwork Renovator = Meg number ?

EGP = Meg number ?

Thanks again.

Cheers.

Sorry bro, i can't help you wif regards to which polish pad to use. I think Gen2 should have a better idea with these :)

All my DIY are done using manual hand application and polish :)

Im not sure whether those 'touch up markers' in the market are advisable, never tried them myself.. but if you wanna get one, make sure to choose the correct color for it! You can check from underneath your car's bonnet, it states ur car original color code :)
