Newbie question: What does the no XXX/XX/Rxx on tyre mean?

using gantans 195/55R15 e.g.

 

195 is the tire width in mm

55 is the sidewall profile as a percentage of the tire width (55% of 195)

and 15 is the size of the hole in the middle

In layman's understanding:

 

195 is the tire width in mm (bigger number means tire bigger)

 

55 is the profile as a percentage of the tire width (higher number means more grip on the road, and more bumpier yr ride will be)

 

and 15 is the size of the hole in the middle (bigger the number, car will be more chio and sportier)

hahaha the bigger the tire width the more stable it is...however affects the pickup alot....currently me on 235/45/R17....FC is bad too...
