Firstcall Clutched May 8, 2006 Share May 8, 2006 (edited) Read from Sat newspaper that the local dealer from Chrysler is bringing in a new American brand, Dodge - Caliber, in 2.0l CVT form, est arn 1.4ton. http://www.dodge.com/en/caliber/gallery.html Not at all pretty but the all raw & brutal American utilitarian car look. An usual cross over vehicle to behold. The 2.0l has 158Bhp@6400rpm, 191NM@5000rpm Published FC estimated between 11City -12.75HW km/l (Not for possible SG I believe) est selling price 90k Edited May 8, 2006 by Firstcall ↡ Advertisement

Cbx750p 1st Gear May 8, 2006 Share May 8, 2006 If this babe is designed and made in America, it would not be much.... Look at the Chrysler Prowler....or sort. The car looks terrible from the outside and the inside....wowwww....Back into the Future ! The instruments, console, switch, dashboard...suchs ! Typical American designed for big fingers ! Compare it with any German, later Japanese or Korean design....and it would really look inferior. Now back to this Dog Caliber....the engine spec sound reasonable...2.0 litre and 150 horses....but the interior is something else. Let's wait and see ! Firstcall Clutched May 10, 2006 Author Share May 10, 2006 hehe, they shd bring some more american muscle into sg.. yep, it seems they are starting to bring more of these yanky cars, but I doubt muscle cars tho...cos difficult to sell here.
Firstcall Clutched May 10, 2006 Author Share May 10, 2006 i really hope they bring in the turbo charged SRT4 version. They just had an official opening in the Leng Kee Showroom... the ex-Peugeot showroom, beside the Harley Davison. If got chance will pop by to ask...but I think they'll bring in only 2.0l, more practical for SG market...
Firstcall Clutched May 10, 2006 Author Share May 10, 2006 sweetnothing like old school american muscle bring in the guzzlers From the way I see how the American create this product, is that they have awaken to the fact that even many Americans themselves are not keen to buy guel guzzlers anymore. The high gas price is driving them to buy more fuel efficient and lighter japs. And it seems for the first time, they produce a more high tech engine with Dual VVT somemore... not sure what the dual VVT means, perhaps aone for slow spped and eco drive and another for high power. having 158bhp from 2.0l Amreican car is pretty credible. tho torque is nothing special. It's so platicky, looks hard and passe. Even a 'class A ward' looking Chrysler 300C has a 'class C' ward interior.

Gary84 1st Gear May 14, 2006 Share May 14, 2006 well the engine specs are alright la...sounds very similar to mine though...am driving a 2.0L car and running on 150horses too...the caliber might be too heavy for the 150horses though....
Cbx750p 1st Gear May 14, 2006 Share May 14, 2006 (edited) Yeah...I read it somewhere that there would be or is available, a right hand drive version but with fuel prices going up the ladder, I wonder how these American fuel guzzler would survive here in Singapore ! They can bring it in but these vehicles would probably sell like 3 units a year ! Some rich dudes would probably buy them.
