Extreme right lane of Expressways

Hi

Assuming it's 4 lanes or more on expressways eg PIE, can

1. goods vehicles/lorries/buses/etc

2. Motorcycles

travel on the extreme right lane? Also assuming there are not overtaking and no exit lane on the right (like the Bukit Timah exit at PIE towards Tuas). I'd noticed of late these vehicles been travelling on the extreme right lane [dead] and the irritating part is that some of them are hogging it [shakehead] . Anyone noticed that? Or am I having PMS [:p]

I have seen lorries and goods vehicles running on the extreme right lane on expressways. Think our friendly TP not doing their work except sitting by the roadside or standing on overhead bridge with digi-cam.

Convenient to catch speeding at overhead bridges.

Easy to hit quota.

Most important, it is low risk!

Still remember the case where the tipper reverse into the TP.

Being a responsible TP is never easy.

Believe buses / lorries can only use the 2 left lanes only a 3 lane expressway, motorcyclists can use any lane.

To the rant abit.. I have no respect for the majority of motorcylists here..I've previously taken my motorcycle tests and havent seen any of the motorcylist here practice anything they have been taught.

e.g.

- look over shoulder before changing lane to observe blind spots.

- indicate when changing lane.

Also, since when can you undertake cars in the same lane or ride between cars on the move on the expressway etc (it's ok to undertake/overtake if we are stationary but not on the move). [hur]

Anyway, no sympathay from me when they're splurged across the highway due to crappy riding, just real sorry for the people who have to cleanup your body parts after.

Yes, I feel it too. Tot of posting this thread.

More and more Van/Lorry driving on Lane 2. They seem like driving thro the entire journey, never change back to Lane 3. So most car driver will keep on lane 1, even car that driving in a slow speed are hogging it.

Wonder why TP never take action... [sleeping]

Ya lor, ya lor. Thought there's a change in traffic regulation or something so I asked [sly] .

Another thing I noticed is that traffic jam is getting worse and worse, partly cos of increasing car population, and could these road hogging vehicles contributed as well? I dare not say [lipsrsealed] as I have no stats on these. But just a personal observation [idea] .

Oh ya, where are the signs har? I always thought motorcycles not allowed in extreme right lane one [lipsrsealed]

agree bro

Happens on both ways of AYE to and from Tuas to city too, especially the smaller goods vehicles, they can stay on 1st lane for whole of journey, and even bully some sedan drivers rightfully on 1st lane. Sometimes, even if I see TP on the far left, these offenders also bochap carry on. Strange change of the times. Chinese saying "wu fa wu tian"

dunno bro, always have to ask my wife be careful of such fellas. I am more worried if she's driving by herself. In times of trouble, man to man, of course I can protect her very well.

substantiate.

should not, due to speed limit. however, sometimes in the morning jam, u will see them. of course, some are chiongsters who are speeding.

So far, i only know Y-plate NOT allowed on lane 1. for G-plate it's not illegal [scholar]

i think this was brought up before. the person whom i challenged was unable to show the proof also

A busybody STOMPer who got it all wrong.

The left lane is for traffic filtering out to keppel road, so this lorry is right to keep to the right.
