Service engine light (extreme left got an yellow signal)

went to starauto to repair car cos car keep vibrating and the yellow light keep comin out. after repairin, the staff said its reset the program. but after a week, the yellow came out again and car start to vibrate again. This time worse, its stay at 3-4rpm and keep maintainin at 60km.

Doesnt anyone have this problem???

My ride is a optra. The last time the service light appears after my battery went almost flat while i continue to drive for a day. The mobile service man came and replaced a small gadget causing the fault. The mobile service man advised that not advisable to drive with a weak battery as it may just as well affect other components. This is what it happened to me. He changed on the spot and its FOC. i got my own battery for the replacement.

 

 

As for the high RPM, i've also encountered. Basically the car rpm just shoot up to 2.5 - 3 once i start my engine even though i've not step on the acce. Max speed is 70km. Diagnosed to be due to faulty throttle body and a replacement was done.

the mobile service man is nt star auto service guy rite??

faulty throttle body replacement is done by the mobile service guy or send to star auto?

Yes it is.. Mobile service from SA. FOC one. I called the 24hr number on the car decal.

The mobile service came to take a look and replace some gadget with wire. I activated him at 11 plus after i struggled back from a wedding dinner. luckily can drive back home.You have one in your car?

 

Change in Throttle body done at SA Ubi.

my 1st repair, i wen to lengkee cos nearer. but they unable to fix the problem and i call them back, they ask me to send to ubi cos he said the service technician there is more experience.

 

 

for the change in trottle body, hw long do they take to service?? 1-2days??

can't afford to wait too long for the repairing.

Yup, usually if you have "big" prob with your chevy, they will refer you back to UBI. For change in throttle body, abt 1 day. Give them a cue that could it be a faulty throttle body and they can zoom in? They actually made use of comp to detect the fault.

 

Send in and get back on the same day. You have to tell them that you need the car urgently.

bad customer service at ubi.

brought my car to ubi tis mornin. the guy wanna charge me for repairing it cos he said tat my car doesnt go to sa for servicing and its consider void warranty.

told him i wen to leng kee and they didnt charge me anythin.

and he ans me "then u go leng kee service centre lor"

 

wat kind of service sa have.

It's the Check engine light. You can get the diagnostic tool to read the error code to know the exact problem. Search yahoo auction. It's selling only for $50.

By the way, the service advisor initially was reluctant to consider my repairs to be under warranty as i have not been servicing with SA since my first three free servicing. They relented when i pointed out that nowhere in the car manual states that the parts that needs replacing are parts that needs to be inspected/replace during the scheduled servicing thus it would not have made any difference even if i had service with SA.

 

If all fails talk to the caucasian service manager and 'bang' table.

bang table aso no use. in the end no choice but to send my car for them to check but still give me useless ans........

 

ask them wat wrong. they said there is too much carbon build up inside the car and they need to remove and engine misfire.

ask them hw cm will misfire and will hv carbon. they said they duno cos my car was not service there previously.

then ask them, whether car is service there a nt. if they can tell us misfire then wat trigger the misfire.

then they jus duno hw to ans and ask us monitor. then we ask if anythin goes wrong, they said send to them and they still gg to charge us.

 

they didnt solve the problem and still charge me. damn piss off.

really need to complain. i spend 170+++ juz for them to clear carbon and reset but they unable to tell me wat wrong and ask me monitor.

 

i juz wan an ans frm them wat is wrong and if there is any part spoil then juz change it, its seems like they are nt checkin it thorougly and expect me to drive an unstable car, and if accident r they gg to pay me.

my car gg to be 3yrs old soon. dun tik able to 1-1 exchange.

hope the car can endure for a yr or so before i change to new car.

 

cos of their bad service, i won recommend friends to buy chevy car and will tell everyone hw bad their service is.
