Bro not everyone can read chinese [sweatdrop] here's my humble translation

He says, "In addition, LTA is reducing the COE quota in the next session, causing pressure on the COE price. I believe that from next session onwards, COE prices across all categories will continue to climb. COE prices of $10000 and below are history."

Liang Nan Xing estimates that COE prices for cars will remain at the $15000 level within the next few months and sustain between $16000 and $18000 in the mid and long run.

if there's two identical new cars -same model, one with 20k COE & another with 10k COE.. so which one is better to buy as second hand car??? is it the one with 10k COE since the second owner dun need to pay more as compared to the one with 20k COE??? [confused]

The one with lower paper value will most likely be selling at a cheaper 2nd hand price.

IMO, I'll go for the 10k COE one with all things equal (ie. condition, mileage, etc). No point paying more to get a high paper value car wat?!

does this means it's better to de-register & export the car with 20k COE since it'll not be sought after in local 2nd hand market as compared to cars with lower COEs.??? [rolleyes]

I'd think so.. if u compare with the same car having 10k COE, u may hv a tough time trying to sell in 2nd hand market. Unless yr car price damn attractive!

U will need to decide whether de-reg or sell 2nd hand will fetch u higher price.

high COE unlikely to be less traffic jam, but lower COE quota definetly see lesser car added to the roads. [sly]

Not necessarily. We've already seen how quickly car dealers adjust their price upwards after the $5k COE. They'll adjust their prices up again, much more than the expected COE. This way, they lower the demand, so COE will remain at the same level, but they get to keep the extra money for themselves.

Unless spent too much $$ on the COE no $$ to buy petrol then maybe less traffic jam [:)]
