Gave up my Toyota RAV4...and bought Captiva

Having driven 2500KM I can say that this is one of the best SUVs I have ever driven (my previous rides being RAV4, CRV & Matrix).

The moment I test drove CAPTIVA.... I knew that this is the kinda ride I am looking for. Loving every moment.... [drivingcar]

Before I bought this car I test drove Murano, Santa Fe and Toyota - Fortuner.

So for CAPTIVA

Interiors...

you will have to see it to believe. It was beyond my expectations.

Build Quality / Solid Feel & Road Presence:

Fortuner scored slightly above in this area. Personally... it felt like driving/riding a truck. CAPTIVA scored second in this arena.

Ride Quality/Comfort

CAPTIVA scored way above than CRV, MURANO, Fortuner & my previous ride RAV4.

So looking at the Combo of Build Quality & Ride Quality... CAPTIVA scored better.

Thanks for posting the link...The article truly reflects CAPTIVA's strenghts....

Hi FirstCall..... response to your queries

Actually I chalk-In approx 100 KM+ everyday as I travel from Pasir Ris to Tuas and back.

The figures below are based on SPC-95... 80% Expressway 20% Small Roads.

AirCon is ON 80% of the time.

Ist Fill:

44.9 Litres managed to get 414 KM... which results in 9.2 KM / L

2nd Fill:

52.11 litres managed to pull thru 499.... which results in 9.57 KM / L

During week-ends when I am driving on small roads the FC hovers around 8.4 to 8.5 KM / L

Was your Rav4 the previous gen model? - mine was 1.8ltrs car used to get around 12.5 to 13 km/L for my RAV4.

For Captiva...Peak torque 220Nm kicks-in at 2,200 rpm... it has a good spread of torque for highway cruising...

yup my Rav4 was previous model. I got about 11.5km/l running about 70%Highway 30%Urban

I like Captiva's design. Very balanced and neat. Makes no mistakes unlike the new CRV with an awful mouth, the new Rav4 with a doodie front look, The Outlander with a frowning Manga rear, Fortuner which is too close for comfort with the Hilux truck.

I hope you have rear disc brakes unlike the Fortuner who gets drum brakes

Jeep Compass anyone?

http://www.xxxxxxx.com/articles/article.p...pageid=1&view=1

about the same price, but drives SO MUCH better than a captiva, BUT smaller..and the fuel consumption about the same.

the 4WD system on this one is much better too.

Anyway, if you had to choose between a RAV4, CRV, Captiva and a Jeep Compass, which one would you take?

I'd take a Hilux... [laugh][laugh][laugh][laugh]

Between Hilux and Triton, I go for Triton.
