Eight young men and women set up a "People's Action Figures Party" at a corner at the Youth Park near Exeter Road last Saturday, 25 Aug 07. The protest consist of a display of toy action figures lined up carrying anti-Odex props & placards in a mock demonstration. Apollo 1st Gear September 8, 2007 Author Share September 8, 2007 Singapore bans Burma protests Singapore (dpa) - Singapore police have issued a stern warning against any more demonstrations by Burmese nationals protesting fuel prices in their homeland, officials said on Sunday. A similar assembly held without a permit on August 25 resulted in investigations into the 23 participants, including three who are believed to have initiated the event via text messages. "Police would like to remind the public that they should not participate in an assembly or procession that does not have a permit as it is an offence," a spokesman told The Sunday Times. The earlier protest involved Burmese nationals in Singapore voicing their support for their compatriots. A series of protests against fuel price hikes have taken place in Rangoon in recent weeks, leading to several arrests. The group in Singapore gathered at a mass transit station and headed for another at City Hall. Singapore has tough laws against outdoor gatherings of four or more people without a permit. http://www.bangkokpost.com/breaking_....php?id=121302
