Need some reviews from bros here who have used/are using Falken's Ziex-326 tyres. I just changed my front tyres to the 326s as my previous pair was already showing bits of carcass on the insides(wheel-well side). Please comment on the tyre performance after initial scrubbing in, so that I have an idea on what to expect.

My initial impressions on the tyre upon installation were that in comparison to my previous Simex (Malaysian made, very hard rubber compound, almost NIL wet-grip), the wet-grip of the 326s doesn't seem at all impressive. Still managed to easily do wheelspins on a slightly wet surface. Of course, this is before the tyres have been properly scrubbed in. On the highway in light rain at 100km/h, aquaplaning was almost non-existent even in bigger pools of water. Just a hint of planing when hitting those big pools that span almost 50 metres long.

In the dry, grip seemed to be worse than the Simex tyres. Surprisingly, really, given the softer compound of the 326s. But I must note that the sidewall is not as stiff, and AGAIN, the tyres have yet to be bedded in.

I must clarify, however, that I am in no way looking at the Falkens as a set of performance tyres. Far from it. All I want is a set of tyres that are relatively lasting, with reasonable wet-weather performance. Of course, with predictable handling characteristics so that I don't get caught off-guard. Road noise is of no issue to me. So, your valuable feedback will help me decide whether to keep these tyres & purchase a matching set for the rears, or to junk them & go for another set instead.

Before anyone starts suggesting Firenza, Yoko Aspect DB etc, please note that my tyre size is not of a common one. It's 165/55/R14. Not many stores carry this size, not to mention even less major manufacturers produce this size. Thanks a million in advance! [thumbsup]

I'm using them for the past 4 months. What I really like over my last set of tyres - Goodyear Eagle F1 (Thai) is that these are much quieter. Though I sacrifice performance for comfort but I think if you are like me who drives leisurely and don't really corner hard, the ZE-326 is good for daily use.

With the awareness that the ZE-326 are not that good in wet and only so-so in dry, I just "re-tune" my right foot a little bit... [:)]

Hmm.. I do enjoy a spot of hard driving from time to time. Which was why I was pleasantly surprised that my previous Simex tyres, although they were squealing away during hard cornering, the grip never faltered. For such a hard-wearing tyre, the Simex performed admirably. Too bad in the wet, they were hopeless.

Looks like I'd have to test the Falkens properly after scrubbing in to determine if they're comparable to the Simex. If not, then probably have to swap them for something else. [:/]

Yes, I'm starting to realise after reading through some local & overseas reviews. Am just hoping for some positive feedback from here so that I won't go spending a fortune on upsizing my rims just so that I can use Ziex-512s or Yoko AD07s. To be brutally honest, I'd have to be a fool to waste my cash on a set of sporty tyres that can only last around 40K km, and I don't even track. But the quest for a decent compromise between wet & dry grip VS durability is sadly nigh on impossible as my tyre size is pretty uncommon. [sweatdrop]

Noise is not an issue for me. Grip is though. From all the reviews I've seen thus far and given my liking for hard driving, this pair of 326s seem to be destined for the junkyard. [smallcry]

here some reviews for u

Falken ZIEX ZE-326

1. - Dry ok, wet worse than Firenza ST-03

2. - Better get it changed ,will caused car to under steer at wet roads

3. - Wet road got to slow down alot alot. very bad wet grip, nearly skidded once

4. - noisy.grip is average. must drive more carefully, cannot pull stunts with this tyre.

5. - Noisy. Dry only okie. Wet totally CMI.

6. - really lousy tires (refer to no.4) Tyre will pull stunts for you on both dry and wet roads!!!

7. - dry still ok. Wet so so. But tires wear out very fast. Noisy. Like driving tank.

8. - Bros like me with this tyres better get it change asap

This tyres are like ice skating shoe as it like to skate like nobody business

9. - v v v lousy tire i ever use in my life. dry - 6/10, wet 4/10. noise as well. but the tire life v long la...50k no prob. skid when turning into a corner. nearly bang wall.

10. - the best tyres in the world. irreplacable! if you want to change car or claim total lost. die die must use this tyres! thumb upz!

11. - noisy like driving lorry , bad grip.... rain might skid..... so must drive really really slow during raining ..... sharp corners better slow down... For me, once in my lifetime of such tyres is enuff.

12. Not veri noisy to me, perhaps driven more noisy ones. Wet is veri horrible. Did osme hard driving for the past 2 days. Corner at 120km/h from bke to kje was managable. Did some quick turns at punggol with roundabout take at about 60km/h with alittle skidding. Not sure if tyre pressure reduced to track setup would be better but 2nd tots on pushing with this rubber.

Thanks bro. Think I'm better off making a trip to M'sia to get a set of Toyo Trampio's. Guess that is the current best compromise between roadholding & durability. Too bad nobody in SG stocks them in my size. [:/]

Yeah, still on sale as it's the only tyre model available in 165/55/R14 in SG. Even Simex also not really easy to find. As for cost, at S$75 a piece for this kind of standard, it's not really cheap either. Better off with a S$55 Simex. [:/]

[:/] This is one set of lousy tires I would advise all to avoid. Was on a set of ZE326 before, and the result is total loss of my car. Car skidded in wet road at the bend near steven rd exit at PIE. Speed was only 80km/h when I was driving. [thumbsdown]

eh .. why are you doing 80 in the wet on a 70km/h stretch?

I find that some roads, especially entry and exits to expressway not "banked" the right way for high speed driving. (obviously to encourage vehicles to slow down) Kenna a few accidents, and the speed limiting strips will also appear ... drive with care.
