Porker Turbocharged February 16, 2008 Author Share February 16, 2008 Porto de Galinas (Port of the Chickens)... so named because its the place where they unload African slaves in the 1800s and the people call them chickens because slavery abolished already but still continued for obvious reasons. This is in Pernambuco as well. The beach is beautiful but you have to drive like 60+ km from the tourist area and resorts. The bottom pic was taken with the locals. Beri friendly people they are and very nice too!

Porker Turbocharged February 16, 2008 Author Share February 16, 2008 Final shots of the last 2 days spent in Rio de Janeiro.. started to rain already and the temp went down to a cool 18 degrees C. The clouds came really low... Back at the same hotel but with the opposite facing this time round. Impressions of Brazil ---> 1) People are really friendly and nice 2) No scams encountered (taxi drivers turn on meters without haggling for fixed price except only one) 3) Food is good 4) Beautiful place (natural beauty) but lots of places damaged by modernization and also tourists 5) Entire country is like a big party zone!!!! Non stop partying can be seen everywhere 6) Women are beautiful!!! Gisele Bundchen types very common!!!

Porker Turbocharged February 16, 2008 Author Share February 16, 2008 Yeah have to see it in person... Argentina side is up close and personal experience... Brazilian side is from a distance I will go back to Brazil in future. The people are really very nice and friendly. Totally unexpected because I expected lots of scams. But the world famous Favelas (shanty towns)... better don't go in cos quite dangerous
