Patrol cars, Red Car, Ambulance around Golden Landmark

from my office, saw many patrol cars (at least 5), red car, maybe fire engine?? & ambulance, near golden landmark hotel...whaz up????

some1 called 999 - mata chia come.

 

1st mata come, kan cheong spider, ask for backup, other nearby team will respond.

 

another bugger called 995. say got injured. ambulance come.

 

ambulance cannot extract person.. fire truck come.

Just passed by at 5.10 pm, saw 2 fire engine, 1 ambulance, 1 police car, 1 police van, 3 SCDF saloon cars, 1 Rino..... look like serious...

just watched the news on TV. what happened was 2 guys fight, 1 guy took out a spray can and sprayed some gas out. don't know what gas... end up everybody nearby affected...some vomitted, some choke, some breathing problem. about 20 people sent to hospital.

 

wah, chemical warfare is here.

20 sent to hospitals after unknown gas leak at Golden Landmark Shopping Centre

SINGAPORE: A man has been taken into police custody as he was receiving treatment at the Singapore General Hospital.

 

The man is one of the 20 people who had been sent to hospital after an unknown gas was released at Golden Landmark Shopping Complex on Monday afternoon.

 

11 of them were sent to the Accident and Emergency Department at Singapore General Hospital and the other nine were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

 

One of the victims was a two-year-old girl, but most of the others were in their 50s.

 

Many of them had reported breathing difficulties, tearing, nausea, throat discomfort and skin irritation.

 

Most of the victims are now in stable condition.

 

It's not known what role the man had in the incident and also unknown is the source of the gas.

 

But witnesses reported seeing a man in his 40s spraying an odourless and colourless gas from a canister.

 

Channel NewsAsia understands that it could have been pepper spray.

 

The entrance of the Golden Landmark Shopping Complex was cordoned off for investigations.

 

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was notified about the gas release at 4.11pm.
