Avi. video files got sound no picture?

yoz bros.. i downloaded an avi file.. played got sound but no picture.. i rmb have to download some codec stuff.. but dunno wat.

Sound and video and encoded separately in video files.. In many cases, a video file with 5.1 channel sound will turn out soundless because there is no 5.1 audio decoder.

Probably then... the video and audio signals are encoded separately although in the same file.

Try searching for .... "media player classic" download and try.

actually, VLC is just like any other players..without codec to decode the audio and video, even VLC cant do shyt..

izzit, so far it's able to open all files, except for realmedia and apple's .mov which i've not tried. and the newer avi files which win mp couldn't open, vlc opens lol. haven't downloaded any extra codec for it though.
