since my Samsung Note 1, the pics have been great ... then Xperia, now Huawei ... things are just getting better.

only time might need a P&S is during travelling .... when need to take zoomed shots.

phone cams are still lagging very far on that as they still have not figured out how to add optical zoom without fattening the phone.

I thought the issue has been improved a lot in recent years with dual lenses for camera phone?

i was considering the MiMax ... (not MiMix) ... cheap and big but when i saw the camera and pics, i got huawei instead.

Which huawei? Better than MiMax?

in many sense, yes ... and since i only paid $230(huawei) over $99(mimax) for recon, it was a more "worth it" choice.

first, the pics definitely better. second the ram/rom more. and as i always mentioned, most of the telco's base equipment are made by huawei, it will work better together.

I have a Nikon DSLR D90 (8 years), Canon G16 (2 years), in the end all in the shelf, using my Samsung S7 edge.

For phone camera, the latest S8 and the latest iPhone should been quite good enough.

Since I used S7 phone, night shot without a tripod us so easy. The night was taken on a river cruise in a moving boat.

And a sunset photo just took yesterday.

All thelse photo was shot just using auto mode on S7.

On a serious note, Samsung phones still command good money because of the high price exporters are willing to take in. Another feature from a technical standpoint is the 3rd party support is never ending. Even old phones like Note 3 can be upgraded to Android 7.

Some photos from mine, also S7 Edge. I think the photo quality is good enough for me to give up my DSLR.

Note photos extracted from my facebook, actual resolution is higher.

S7 should be slightly better. Proven in several comparable reports I read online. Eventually no matter how good a device it, I still feel that how a person take and frame his photos are equally important.

Personally, I feel they are very close la. Down to personal preference already. Either way, it really depends on the photographer.

i know i can take good photo from S7 Edge but since I was iPhone user before, I actually prefer the warm and soft feel in iPhone, S7 more for bright and sharp images. Below were one micro and one wide from my S7.

More reason why I don't need to carry my heavy camera with me. Unless travel oversea for holidays.

Just a good camera phone is enough.

All this photo resolution had been reduce in order to post here.

On Sunday, I went to Samsung shop at Bugis Junction to buy Note 3 battery.

When back home, after comparing with my old original battery, I suspect the new battery is fake.

Then I went down to Plaza Sing service centre to check. True enough, they also said the battery is fake.

Story cut short, went back to shop at Bugis again, returned the battery to them, get back refund.

Wasted my whole afternoon.

Seriously, now dun know go where to buy authentic battery.

Even Samsung shop can sell fake Samsung battery!

Haiz...
